I was playing seven tables this time, each at a $4 buy-in. Most of my tables were hovering around the $4 mark, with a few at the $5 mark. This was looking good until I took a few losses.
The first loss was KK vs AA. AA did a preflop bet and the player to his left made a small raise. I put a large raise in an AA called and the next player went all-in. With two players my odds are about 70% to win so I called. The moment the next player called I knew I was in trouble. Board drew blanks for everyone and I AA cleaned up. I don't recall what the other guy had anymore.
They were both short stacks so that cost me $1.50.
The next loss I got lucky that the guy was nervous about taking my money. I had a pair of queens on a terrible board. Somebody had called my raise preflop and ended up with a set of fours. Naturally he just called through to the river where he got his fourth four. He made a big raise.
What did I do. I got two tables confused. At another table I had QQ with a full house against an opponent in the same table position. Well, I called on the wrong table and ended up losing an additional $1 or so.
End total, I was down $2.
