I had a good day at the tables today. Only two tables for a couple of hours, but it paid off well. Up $30, which of course only puts me back at $60 -- I had a bad week last week.
Good All-In
I played a 6 player NL game, which I normally don't do, preferring instead the 9 player tables. I took the table since the listing stats showed that it was very tight and I like to play aggressively.
When I say down however I just saw one large bet after another. All pre-flop betting. The flop itself was rarely seen. I managed to hold my own and make a dollar or two but not much.
Then I got . Knowing the table I did a standard 3xBB bet and was promptly raised. Only to see a reraise from another player. Even with two normally tight players raising I'm still the favourite here. I go all-in with about $10. I get one answer, another all-in for $40, which is meaningless since the last player had only $6 to start with. He of course also calls bringing the pot to around $28.
The first guy flips and the next guy flips . I can see why they were reasonably certain with answering my all-in.
So long as no ten shows I'm likely fine. And of course none did so I scooped the pot.
Solid Play Bonus
I hit another table then to try and reach my next bonus payout, I only needed a few more rounds. The table turned out to be ultra-tight so I pulled if a lot of blinds and knocked out a few cowards on the flop.
A maniac came to the table then. I'm no good against these people. Playing with a small stack also makes it hard. She went all-in about 7 times in 30 rounds. To boot she must as had a lucky streak since on the 3 or 4 showdowns she had, she won.
I dropped back down a few dollars playing against her and decided it was time to go, bonus or not.
Checking my account I was happy to see the bonus was registered. So I get to start tomorrow in the black.
