I was doing well at a table, got up to $15 from $10. Did one bad play and dropped down to $7. Played another hour without moving. Got one more good hand and was again forced out with an all-in bet. I'm down at $4.50 and get:
But of course, just before me an ultra-tight player Emotion bets $0.80. Nothing will push me out of course, though I have to be afraid of good pocket pairs, so I call. To my surprise there are two more calls. This is quite odd as the table has been playing super-tight to this point.
The flop comes:
Top pair good kicker, and flush draw. This looks good for me. Emotion checks to me. I look at my stack, $3.70 and to the next player Lana. She's pushed me out before with a large bet and I didn't want to let it happen again. So I looked at my stack and thought, "all-in for $3.70".
Lana goes all-in for $7.95. I guess she hit three of a kind and needed to keep others from getting their draw. That worked, the two others dropped out. She turns over:
She's the slight favourite to win at this point. The turn comes:
And it's all over unless the river hits a . It's happened to me before so I'm not holding my brief. The river shows a totally innocent and I collect a handsome $10.90 ofr my flush.
